TN Sausage May Contain Merck’s mRNA Swine Vaccine Materials

Last month, it took TN House Representatives on a committee by surprise to learn that for the past few years they may have been eating sausage made from swine given an mRNA vaccine.

WATCH THE COMMITTEE MEETING

Dr. Samantha Beaty, State Veterinarian and Assistant Commissioner for Animal Health, provided information and answered committee members’ questions. She said:

“In TN we receive swine from 36 states and another country every day.”

“I can only speak to what is being used currently and those vaccines [mRNA vaccines by Merck] are specifically for sows and those animals in the food chain go into sausage production if they pass ante-mortem production.”

“There hasn’t been a demonstrated negative impact with this food.”

While she claimed there has not been “a demonstrated negative impact with this food”, she gave no citation. Since nobody was aware they had been eating mRNA-vaccinated sausage, how would anyone know any health issue was related? Nobody is collecting data. She said that she “had not sat down and done a tremendous study on the research papers” and she was not familiar with the human study that showed mRNA has been found in the breast milk of nursing mothers vaccinated with COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.

The below email was sent to Dr. Beaty by Bernadette Pajer:

“Dear Dr. Beaty,

I heard you testify to the Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee regarding mRNA vaccines used in livestock. You explained that TN sausage is made from swine (sows) that have been given Merck’s SEQUIVITY mRNA vaccine, and that vaccine products may contain vaccine materials or be impacted in some way from the vaccine.

I learned that by federal law, testing must be done to determine withdrawal periods following the administration of drugs or vaccines to animals meant for human consumption.

Can you please provide the documentation regarding the withdrawal period studies for SEQUIVITY from Merck Animal Health?

Also, you mentioned that there have been no reports of harm from humans consuming sausage made from swine given SEQUIVITY.  Can you please provide documentation on the clinical trials performed on humans consuming such meat and any ongoing surveillance procedures and data?”

Dr. Beaty’s response:

“Good morning,
Thank you for your email.

To clarify,  cull sows MAY have been vaccinated with Sequivity vaccine.   This vaccine platform is expensive and so if traditional vaccines will work in a herd, then veterinarians are more likely to utilize those methods because of cost.   However, if a disease is threatening a population of animals and the traditional vaccines have not been effective, (particularly Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PED)), then these vaccines have been a game changer.

I do not have the CVB USDA (Center for Veterinary Biologic)  documents you are requesting.
As for the process for approval by CVB, I am not familiar with all the details that company must meet for approval.  Here is a link to their page below with information about licensing.  There are also links to the 9CFR which outline regulations around licensing on this page.

If you would like additional details on their requirements, you can contact them directly at cvb@usda.gov.
Questions regarding specific product licensing data or the supporting regulation may be directed to CVB.Single.Tier@usda.gov

Below I have posted the website for contacting Merck if you would like to see more information around Sequivity.

Here is another link to a white paper on Sequivity.  The phone number is located in fine print at the bottom.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Samantha”

The links offered provided no detailed information, and the “white paper” is essentially a marketing PDF. It is very difficult to find clinical trial and withdrawal study detail on veterinary vaccines.

Questions of concern:

  • Will mRNA vaccines harm the fertility or health of animals or offspring? Jeopardize our food supply?
  • Is the meat or other products from animals given mRNA vaccines altered in anyway? If so, is this alteration capable of altering human health?

We will continue to search for details and report in a follow-up post. Want to help with this and/or other research projects? Volunteer Now!

Dr. Mercola published an article on April 10, 2023 on the subject of mRNA vaccine use in swine, the progress of such vaccines for other livestock, and the implications for health of both animals and humans. READ HERE.

What can YOU do? Shop local. Find local small-farm pork producers and talk to them about their methods and vaccine usage. A good place to start is the Weston Price Foundation. VISIT THE WESTON PRICE FOUNDATION.
